No published, peer-reviewed trial has tested the Hidragenix blend itself, and any page that tells you otherwise is guessing. What does exist is a body of research on the individual ingredients, most of it short, most of it small, and much of it in people who were already overweight and also changing their diet at the same time. That is worth reading, and it is also worth reading carefully.
Capsicum and capsaicinoids: a small, measurable warmth effect
Capsaicinoids are the compounds that make cayenne hot, and they are the reason capsicum turns up in metabolism formulas. A systematic review and meta-analysis of human trials found that capsaicinoids and capsinoids produced a modest increase in energy expenditure in healthy adults, while noting wide variation between studies (Irandoost et al., “The effect of Capsaicinoids or Capsinoids in red pepper on thermogenesis in healthy adults,” Phytotherapy Research, 2021). Modest is the operative word: this is a nudge measured in a laboratory over hours, not a substitute for a calorie deficit.
Green tea catechins: real but small, and dose matters
Green tea’s headline compound is epigallocatechin gallate, or EGCG. A systematic review and meta-analysis of human studies concluded that EGCG can raise energy expenditure and fat oxidation, but that the size of the effect is small and depends heavily on dose and on habitual caffeine intake (Kapoor et al., “Physiological effects of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG) on energy expenditure for prospective fat oxidation in humans,” Journal of Nutritional Biochemistry, 2017). The U.S. National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reaches a similar conclusion in plainer language: green tea has not been shown to produce meaningful weight loss on its own (NCCIH, Green Tea).
Gymnema sylvestre: mostly studied for blood sugar, not for weight
Gymnema is the ingredient people most often misunderstand. A systematic review and meta-analysis in adults found effects on glycaemic and lipid measures, with much weaker and less consistent findings for body weight and other anthropometric measures (Zamani et al., “The effects of Gymnema Sylvestre supplementation on lipid profile, glycemic control, blood pressure, and anthropometric indices in adults,” Phytotherapy Research, 2023). Gymnema’s traditional reputation as the “sugar destroyer” comes from its effect on sweet taste, which is a real and reproducible sensory phenomenon — not a proven weight-loss mechanism.
African mango: promising early trials, thin overall evidence
Irvingia gabonensis seed extract has been through a handful of small randomized trials. A systematic review and meta-analysis of those trials reported favourable anthropometric changes but flagged the small sample sizes and methodological weaknesses that make the result hard to lean on (Lee et al., “The Effects of Irvingia gabonensis Seed Extract Supplementation on Anthropometric and Cardiovascular Outcomes,” Journal of the American College of Nutrition, 2020).
The fair summary for botanical weight formulas as a category
A systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials of herbal medicines for weight loss concluded that the average effect across the category is small and the quality of the underlying evidence is generally low.
